Monique Peterkin focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation matters and has a demonstrated ability to deliver results in high-stakes, fast-paced environments.

Prior to joining the firm, Monique was a litigation associate in the New York City headquarters of an international law firm, where her practice concentrated on contract disputes, antitrust, securities, and white-collar criminal defense and investigations. Monique’s depth of experience representing sophisticated clients in complex matters provides her with the unique skillset necessary to support dynamic, innovation-driven companies. Monique has successfully led and collaborated on major litigation matters involving Fortune 500 companies, often serving as a key liaison between in-house counsel and business stakeholders. Her experience also includes managing multi-disciplinary teams and developing litigation strategies that align with clients’ business objectives. Monique is recognized for her ability to quickly assimilate new industry knowledge, and has advised clients in technology, healthcare, and financial services sectors. She also regularly navigates evolving regulatory frameworks, providing actionable guidance on risk mitigation and compliance.

Previously, Monique served as a judicial law clerk for Chief Judge Mary H. Murguia in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and Judge George B. Daniels in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. While attending law school, Monique served as an intern for the Federal Judges Association (“FJA”) in Washington, D.C., reporting directly to the Honorable Allyson K. Duncan, former President of both the North Carolina Bar Association and FJA, as well as retired Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Monique also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Denny Chin in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, was Editor-in-Chief of the Howard Law Journal, a research assistant to Professors Patricia Worthy and Harold McDougall, and a teacher’s assistant for the Real Property and Civil Rights Planning courses. She is a veteran of the New York City Bar Association’s Associate Leadership Institute and has been honored as a Lawyer of Distinction.
