The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently made significant changes to the iconic nutrition facts label that is required to appear on packaged foods, as well as to the serving sizes for various conventional food products. These changes will impact all products that are required to bear a nutrition facts label. During this webinar we will be discussing the key changes to the labels, as well as the FDA’s rationales for the changes.
The key changes that this program will highlight are:
- New look of the nutrition facts panel
- “added sugars” disclosures
- “dietary fiber” and the Citizen Petition Process for adding new dietary fiber ingredients
- Serving Sizes – what’s changing?
- Compliance dates and strategies for complying with the required changes
