NEW YORK (October 18) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton recently named Sam Kilb an associate in the firm’s internationally recognized intellectual property department after serving as Trademark Specialist at the firm for nearly a year. Mr. Kilb is a member of the firm’s Trademark & Copyright Team.

Mr. Kilb focuses his practice on trademark and copyright law. While attending law school, he worked as a legal intern at a prominent brand curation company, where he gained experience in trademark licensing and brand enforcement. Mr. Kilb was also a legal intern at the Media Law Resource Center and the Charities Bureau of the New York State Office of the Attorney General. He was a visiting researcher in the Comparative Media Law and Policy Programme at the University of Oxford in Oxford, England during the spring of 2015.

Prior to launching his legal career, Mr. Kilb was Managing Editor of The Statesman and an Education Life Intern at The New York Times.

In 2016, Mr. Kilb received a prestigious Burton Award for excellence in legal writing.

Ms. Kilb earned his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, where he served as Acquisitions Editor of the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal. He received his B.A. in Journalism from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, summa cum laude.
