NEW YORK (April 3, 2019) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that it has named Barry Benjamin Managing Partner of the firm’s New York office. He succeeds Frederick Whitmer, who served as the New York office Managing Partner since 2012. Mr. Whitmer will continue his practice with Kilpatrick Townsend as a partner focusing on intellectual property and business litigation.
“I’m grateful for the firm’s confidence as I assume leadership of our New York office, said Mr. Benjamin. “I look forward to working with firm management as we continue to enhance and elevate the firm’s strategic position in the competitive New York marketplace. We have a tremendous team of attorneys and professional staff eager to build on the record of success achieved under Frederick’s guidance.”
Mr. Benjamin chairs Kilpatrick Townsend’s Advertising and Marketing group which is a part of the internationally recognized Intellectual Property Department. His practice focuses on advertising, privacy, and technology transactions in areas where traditional and digital media converge, and where evolving distribution platforms and data gathering tools push the boundaries of intellectual property rights, privacy, technology, and content. Mr. Benjamin is a graduate of the University of Michigan and earned his law degree at Fordham University School of Law.
“Barry has been an integral part of our New York office since joining the firm as a partner a decade ago,” said Henry Walker, Chair of Kilpatrick Townsend. “We are confident he will do an outstanding job. We also want to thank Frederick Whitmer for his extraordinary service as the New York Office Managing Partner.”
