Insights: News Lou Barbieri Chairs Kilpatrick’s Leading M&A and Securities Team
Kilpatrick Partner Lou Barbieri recently became Chair of the firm’s fast-growing, internationally recognized Mergers & Acquisitions and Securities Team. Lou brings nearly two decades of experience to his role of leading a diverse and dynamic team of attorneys known for acting as strategic business advisors equipped with the focus and skill to protect their clients’ best interests.
Lou, who was named 2024 “Atlanta Lawyer of the Year” for Venture Capital by The Best Lawyers in America, has a practice focusing on counseling leaders of private equity funds, portfolio companies, founder owned-businesses and other corporate clients in general corporate, investment and M&A transactions. He has a depth of experience in representing SaaS software providers, healthcare service providers, and industry leaders in retail, manufacturing, and supply chain. Lou’s goal is to provide sophisticated counsel to clients with a focus on growth through complex regulatory landscapes. He has helped develop and implement acquisition programs for multiple clients that have increased value and ultimately led to successful industry-recognized exit transactions.
Lou is a community leader. He is co-founder, with his wife, of the Barbieri-Hunt Scholarship, which provides annual scholarships to high school students for post-secondary education or work programs. Lou is co-founder of the L.A.M.B. Foundation, a non-profit focused on leveraging community resources for families in need. He is also a past Chairman of Rebuilding Together Atlanta, an affiliate of Rebuilding Together, which mission is to revitalize homes of low-income homeowners in the Atlanta area, focusing on veterans and elderly residents.
