Please join Kilpatrick Townsend and Mishcon de Reya for a panel discussion on Brexit issues relating to U.S. retail and consumer goods companies. During our discussion we will be addressing the following areas:
- Corporate structures: How to plan partnerships, acquisitions, disposals, and reorganizations to manage the Brexit risk/opportunity and considering risks from group companies that operate in or are managed from the EU.
- Supply of goods and services: Mitigation of Brexit risks in the supply chain, either under a potential trade deal or, as seems currently likely, in a scenario governed by World Trade Organization Rules.
- Protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights: How the UK and EU are planning to legislate for the protection of IP (especially pan EU rights such as the EU trademark). To include the issue of parallel imports post Brexit.
- Regulatory compliance/Movement of data: Impact of Brexit on the single regulatory regime, particularly as it relates to data protection and product marking and labeling.
- Commercial contracts: New contracts need to be 'Brexit-proofed' and existing contracts may need to be revisited given the potential impact of Brexit on parties' obligations, pricing, and termination rights.
