Kilpatrick Townsend partner Adria Perez participated in the “Together Against Corruption” initiative hosted by the Swedish Anti-Corruption Institute, Transparency International Sweden, and the American Chamber of Commerce in Sweden. The event occurred during Almedalen Week, Sweden’s annual national policy and politics week.
Ms. Perez served as a panelist in the session "The Long Arm of U.S. Law." The panel discussed:
- U.S. legislation on bribery and its global implications for businesses and functions as a deterrent against corrupt practices;
- Swedish companies that have been sanctioned by U.S. authorities for foreign bribery and entered into agreements on long monitorships; and
- what such an agreement means in practice.
