Constantine Mylonas is a registered patent agent who focuses on patent prosecution and counseling within the life sciences and pharmaceutical fields and utilizes his previous experience in molecular biology, bioinformatics, and drug discovery. His understanding of the research and development process enables him to engage deeply with sophisticated technologies and translate complex scientific concepts into practical, effective intellectual property. Constantine is committed to helping life sciences companies and innovators build and maintain strong patent portfolios that support the development and commercialization of groundbreaking products and discoveries.
Prior to joining the firm, Constantine was a patent agent in the New York City office of an international law firm where he focused on patent prosecution, portfolio strategy, patent litigation, and post-grant proceedings (PTAB).
Before becoming a patent agent, Constantine was a Principal Investigator for research and development at a global pharmaceutical company, where he led a small-molecule drug discovery program focusing on transcription factors implicated in cancer.
Constantine earned his Ph.D. from the Max Planck Institute for the Biology of Ageing, delving into epigenetic and transcriptional mechanisms of developmental control. Following his doctoral studies, his postdoctoral tenure at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) focused on employing genomics and super-resolution microscopy to elucidate mechanisms of transcriptional regulation.
