Wesley Elliott Parker
Patent Of Counsel

1420 Fifth Avenue Suite 3700, Seattle, WA USA 98101

Overview

Wes Parker assists clients with patent inventions and intellectual property asset management—working to understand each client’s business goals and competitive environment to craft their patent strategies accordingly. He prepares and prosecutes design patents to protect ornamental features of inventions, analyzes competitor patents to give non-infringement and invalidity opinions, targets patent claims to competitor products and technical standards, and directs filing and prosecution of patent applications in foreign countries. Wes has a wide range of experience related to electronic circuit design, semiconductor processing, wireless communication, medical devices, apparel, power tools, and sporting equipment, among other technologies. He excels at helping clients use design patents as a valuable supplement or alternative to utility patents.

Before joining the firm, Wes was a shareholder in the Portland, Oregon office of a northwest regional law firm where he focused his practice on preparation, filing, and prosecution of patent applications.

Prior to launching his legal career, Wes worked in an electrophysiology laboratory at Oregon Health and Science University and as a Patent Clerk at a healthcare company that develops intelligent medicine products internally and in partnership with device, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology companies in Redwood City, California where he helped develop an extensive patent portfolio related to implantable medical devices.
