Overview

Hunter Payne focuses his practice on construction and infrastructure projects and government contracting.

Prior to joining the firm, Hunter served as a law clerk for the Honorable Richard W. Story in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

Before his clerkship, Hunter attended the University of Georgia School of Law, where he competed on both the moot court and mock trial teams and won the 2024 Hunton Andrews Kurth Moot Court National Championship. He also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Intellectual Property Law, legal writing teaching assistant for Professor Anna Howard, and graduate research assistant for Professor Dan Coenen, Professor Anna Howard, and Dean Andrea Dennis. Hunter’s classmates selected him to receive the William King Meadow Award, awarded annually to the law graduate who best exemplifies the integrity, sense of responsibility, and high standards of the legal profession, all while maintaining a keen sense of humor necessary to address legal issues from a human perspective.

Prior to launching his legal career, Hunter worked as a construction management consultant, overseeing government-contracted infrastructure projects.
