Overview

Brad Sears focuses his practice on appellate and complex commercial litigation. Brad has represented clients in federal and state courts of appeals across the country in cases spanning a wide variety of industries and practice areas. His experience includes contract, property, trademark, products liability, employment, and constitutional litigation. It also includes appellate victories for multiple Fortune 50 companies.

Prior to joining the firm, Brad served as a law clerk to the Honorable Andrew S. Oldham on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He later clerked for the Honorable William H. Pryor on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Before his clerkships, he served as one of two Phillips Fellows in the United States Office of the Solicitor General, where he worked closely with Assistants to the Solicitor General in preparing merits briefs, petitions for certiorari, and briefs in opposition for Supreme Court cases.

While attending the University of Virginia School of Law, Brad performed extensive appellate research and assisted with multiple Supreme Court filings as part of the law school’s nationally recognized Supreme Court Litigation Clinic. He also served as an Articles Editor on the Virginia Law Review.

Brad was recognized in 2025 and 2026 as one of the "Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch" for Commercial Litigation by The Best Lawyers in America®.
