Daniel Sui concentrates his practice on patent litigation matters across diverse technologies including software and business methods, medical devices, mechanical systems, and electronics. His experience includes conducting pre-suit investigations, performing invalidity and non-infringement analyses, drafting trial briefs, arguing Markman and pretrial motions before ITC and federal court, taking and supporting depositions, preparing expert related matters, and reviewing licensing and settlement agreements.
Prior to joining the firm, Daniel was an associate in the Chicago, Illinois office of a full-service international law firm where he focused his practice on all aspects of intellectual property litigation.
As a former engineer, Daniel worked in the semi-trailer industry where he gained a practical, client-focused approach to addressing technical challenges within the industry.
While attending Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Daniel was Executive Managing Editor for the Indiana International & Comparative Law Review, Vol. XXXIII.
Daniel was recognized as one of the “Rising Stars” in 2025 (Indiana) and 2026 (Illinois) for Intellectual Property Litigation by Super Lawyers magazine.

*Defended a leading Chinese CAD software company against a U.S. competitor in a copyright infringement and trade secret misappropriation litigation in the Northern District of California.
*Represented a leading virtual fashion software company against a Chinese competitor in patent infringement in the Eastern District of Texas.
*Represented a global building material manufacturer against a major competitor in patent infringement litigation in the Southern District of Indiana.
