Kilpatrick’s Chicago Office Grows
CHICAGO (October 16) – Kilpatrick announced today the addition of Bob Brunner, Litigation of Counsel, to its Complex Commercial Litigation Team. Mr. Brunner comes to Kilpatrick from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP.
“We welcome Bob to Kilpatrick,” said Sean Auton and Jerry Haberkorn, Kilpatrick’s Chicago Office Co-Managing Partners. “He brings over three decades of diverse litigation experience that Firm clients will find invaluable.”
Mr. Brunner is a seasoned litigator with extensive expertise in state and federal courts across the country. His nationwide practice includes counseling clients on a wide variety of commercial and insurance coverage disputes as well as financial services litigation. He has represented clients in complex high exposure insurance coverage litigation, including bad faith actions and matters involving varied claims such as environmental, toxic tort, public entity, and directors and officers. In the financial services area, Mr. Brunner brings vast expertise advising financial institutions in matters ranging from alleged violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and Telephone Consumer Protection Act to state unfair and deceptive acts or practices statutes.
Mr. Brunner also works closely with the Capital Markets Team representing banks, loan servicers, special servicers, and other lenders on workouts of non-performing commercial real estate loans, such as forbearances, discounted payoffs, deeds-in-lieu, receiverships, and foreclosures.
Mr. Brunner earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois and his M.A. from the University of Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Illinois-Urbana, B.A., with high distinction.
