Partner Justin Krieger and attorney Nicki Kennedy were featured speakers at the Licensing Executives Society Chemicals, Energy, Environment & Materials (CEEM) Houston Meeting.
Mr. Krieger was a panelist and Ms. Kennedy moderated a session titled, “Catalysts - How Catalyst Technology Companies Protect their Intellectual Property While Providing Their Catalysts to Customers.” The panel focused on balancing licensing deals with intellectual property concerns for both catalyst licensors and licensees. Such concerns include grant backs, catalyst regeneration, and intellectual property disclosures, especially for methods of preparing catalysts. The panelists focused on important clauses to include in license agreements, as well as considerations when initially obtaining intellectual property coverage with an eye toward licensing.
